When does a scan show the sex?

Clinics often wait until the mid-pregnancy scan. Folklore peeks will still guess earlier — with a bigger pinch of salt.
Most hospitals in the UK offer an anatomy scan around 18 to 21 weeks. That is when a trained eye can often see genitals clearly enough to say boy or girl — if baby cooperates, and if you want to know.
Earlier scans (dating, NT) are for dates and health, not sex. Nub-theory photos from 12 to 14 weeks are a internet folklore, not a clinic protocol. Our peek will still read them, and it will still remind you it is entertainment.
If you already have a due date in Weeks, you can see which fruit-size week you are in. That does not change when a sonographer can sex a baby. It only tells you how far along the bump notes think you are.
