How to photograph an ultrasound for a clearer peek

Posted 18 Aug 2026

Fill the frame with baby, use window light, skip filters. Gallery upload is better than a rushed camera flash.

The peek can only read what is in the frame. A print on the table, a screenshot of the clinic PDF, or a careful photo of the monitor all work. A bump selfie, a nursery, or a photo of the waiting-room poster will be turned away.

Stand over the print. Let a window light it. Turn off beauty filters. Crop so baby fills most of the picture. If the clinic emailed you a file, upload that — it is usually sharper than a photo of a photo.

On your phone, tap Upload from gallery rather than Take photo if the scan is already saved. Take photo is there for the print on the kitchen counter.

If we reject it, try a tighter crop or a different week’s picture. First peek is still free.
